Welcome to all the great Viking Kayaks customers participating in the Viking Invitational event on Friday 4th October. Prizes consist of over $2000 cash, Lowrance Elite 5 sounder and more! The idea of this fun competition is to have an opportunity to meet up with other Viking paddlers over a few beers and a BBQ, and also enjoy a great pre-fish for the Gold Rush Kayak Fishing Challenge in Coromandel happening over that weekend.

We’re holding this fun event based at Anglers Lodge at Amodeo Bay 

Shotgun start

On water shotgun start at 8am (so be there at 7am to get ready) in your Viking Kayak from Waitete Bay Road, just north of the Lodge..if the weather is not favourable we will move the launch to end of Mangakahia Drive, Whangapoua .

Updates on Launch location - Grant will be contacting you all by txt as we get closer to the shot gun start. If you have changed your mobile since submitting your entry we need to know asap, email grant@vikingkayaks.co.nz . A couple of you have not supplied a mobile number so we will touch base with you individually

 Lowrance Elite 5 - Spot prize

Along with over $2000.00 cash prizes from Viking,  the guys at Lowrance have kindly donated the new Lowrance Elite 5 HDI!

Cash Prizes: For longest combined length.

• 1^st  = $1000
• 2^nd = $500
• 3^rd = $300
• 4th = $250
• 5th = $200
• 6th to 10th = $100

Event Format :

• *On water shotgun start in your Viking Kayak from Waitete Bay, just north of the Lodge  (weather permitting) or from the end of Mangakahia Drive, Whangapoua at 8am (we will keep an eye on the weather and let you know where).
• *’Weigh-in’ measure up; you must be at the weigh station at Anglers Lodge with your catch by 3pm.
• *Points based on length: 1cm = 1pt
• *In the case of a draw, the catch measured first will be deemed the winner

 Fish Species:

• Snapper – 2 fish
• Kahawai – 1 fish
• Kingfish – 1 fish
• Please note: MOF rules apply

Entry Fee & Conditions: 
$50 per angler and use a Viking Kayak. 

Entries must be paid up before the 1st of September (entry is not confirmed until paid, first in first served)

In case you're wondering, the Viking Team are there so you can meet the crew, we are not eligible for any of the prizes.
